St. Joseph Children's Home is a nonprofit child-caring facility licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, based in Louisville, Kentucky. It was founded in 1849 by local German-American Catholic parishes to care for orphans whose parents had died during a cholera outbreak, and it was originally named the St. Joseph Catholic Orphans Society. The organization serves roughly 1,500 children and family members annually across three core programs: a Residential Treatment Program, a Therapeutic Foster Care and Adoption Program, and the Child Development Center. Since its inception, the home has cared for more than 75,000 boys and girls. The organization serves children across all counties in Kentucky, regardless of nationality, race, or creed. In May 2026, Face It Movement partnered with St. Joseph Children's Home to create social media videos that help the community support parents and caregivers, recognize signs of abuse and neglect, and learn how to report it.
