St. Joseph’s/Candler is a not-for-profit health system based in Savannah, Georgia, with two historic hospitals dating to the 19th century. It holds Magnet recognition for nursing excellence and operates a network of specialty centers spanning oncology, cardiovascular care, neurosciences, women’s and children’s services, orthopedics, and other disease areas, including the Nancy N. and J.C. Lewis Cancer & Research Pavilion that participates in the National Cancer Institute’s Community Cancer Centers Program. The system serves communities across 33 counties in southeast Georgia and the South Carolina Low Country and is the largest faith-based health system in the region. In May 2026, it announced partnerships with Savannah Technical College and several local high schools to expand healthcare education and clinical training for students. These collaborations, along with ongoing clinical programs and research initiatives, reflect a focus on workforce development and improved access to advanced care in the Savannah area.
