STAGES ST. Louis is the region's foremost 501(c) (3) not-for-profit musical theatre company and is renowned for producing Broadway-guality theatre, experienced by 50,000 patrons annually through 124 pefromances of four productions. Stages also educates thousands of students each year as its Performing Arts Academy, the regions only year-round arts school with a comprehensive curriculum, run by a professional theatre company. STAGES opened in 1987 with a budget of $50,00. Today the company employs a full-time staff of 25 overseeing a budget of $3.5 million. The number of employees rises to nearly 100 pepole during uor six month production season. Recent accolades include receiving the regionally prestigious Arts and Education Council's Award for Excellence in the Arts, recognition on St. Louis Magazine's "A-List" as the #1 place to see musical theatre in St. Louis, and 99 Kevin Kline nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Professional Theatre in the Greater St. Louis Area. Along with STAGES Performing Arts Academy, our Urban Arts Initiative has conducted more than 1,000 programs for free or at reduced costs to over 1,5000 underserved students in the St. Louis metropolitan area.In addition over 200 students with physical, cognitive or developmental delays participate each year in the regionally unique Access The Arts program, and its touring division, Troupe Broadway.
