STAND! For Families Free of Violence is a mid-sized public safety organization based in Concord, California. It provides a full spectrum of prevention, intervention, and treatment programs focused on reducing family violence and child abuse. As Contra Costa County's only comprehensive family violence reduction agency, it serves more than 10,000 clients each year. The group is a founding member of the Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence Initiative, a cross-sector effort active for about a decade to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and children exposed to violence. In addition to direct services for victims and affected children, including therapy, childcare, and educational programs, STAND! trains professionals across legal, law enforcement, human services, educators, and health care to respond to family violence, and recent news notes a leadership transition with the retirement of long-time CEO Rhonda James and a planned departure in 2026.
