Standardbred Canada is a non-profit organization based in Mississauga, Ontario, formed in 1998 through the amalgamation of the Canadian Trotting Association and the Canadian Standardbred Horse Society. It oversees the registration and data systems for Standardbreds, supervising, recording, storing, and distributing information about registered horses and related breeding data to support harness racing in Canada and beyond. Through field representatives at racetracks, race data is entered into a central database at the main office, enabling the creation of race programs and real-time eligibility checks, while maintaining detailed records on horses, owners, breeders, earnings, and past performance, as well as stallions and broodmares. The organization also offers a standardized insurance plan for licensed trainers, drivers, grooms, and officials, and maintains a resource centre with archives, books, photos, and other materials. Its stakeholders include racetracks, industry professionals, and members who receive TROT Magazine, with the organization actively participating in industry events, including a partnership to host the O'Brien Awards Gala in London, Ontario.
