Stanislaus National Forest is a unit of the U.S. National Forest System, administered by the Forest Service. It spans 898,099 acres across Calaveras, Mariposa, Alpine, and Tuolumne Counties in the Sierra Nevada region of Northern California. Established on February 22, 1897, it is among the oldest national forests and is named after the Stanislaus River.
