For over 100 years Star Island has hosted family and individual gatherings with a focus towards educational and religious themes. Since 1916, the non-profit Star Island Corporation has maintained Star Island, one of the Isles of Shoals located about 10 miles off the coast of New Hampshire for the same purposes.

Star Island continues to offer the traditional family and individual gatherings with weekly gatherings investigating such varied topics as history, art, religion, education, yoga, meditation, writing, and spirituality. 

Star Island operates seasonally with a summer staff of approximately 100, and a year round staff of about 10.
