Start Elevator was founded in the Bronx, New York, in 1992. The family-owned elevator repair, maintenance and construction business has served some of the Tri-State Area’s most prominent property owners. Though Start Elevator began in New York City and continues to do much of its business there, the company also serves far-flung clients in suburban New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Start’s 2014 acquisition of Al-An Elevator Maintenance Corporation, a well-known New York City elevator maintenance firm that has served the Tri-State for more than three decades, has dramatically expanded its service capacity and geography. In the future, Start Elevator looks forward to positioning itself as a leader in the Northeast’s booming elevator maintenance, modernization and construction segment.

According to the company’s records, the firm has handled repair jobs with budgets as low as a few thousand dollars and modernization, construction and retrofitting jobs as large as $6 million.
