STRONGER engages diverse stakeholders from government, environment, and industry to provide services for the continuous improvement of state environmental regulatory programs with oversight of various aspects of oil and gas development.

A voluntary process with a history of success.

Since 1990, 25 state environmental regulatory programs have volunteered for State Reviews under the STRONGER Guidelines. The Guidelines address Administrative Criteria, Waste Management Technical Criteria, Abandoned Sites, Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material, Stormwater Management, Hydraulic Fracturing, Air Quality, and Reused and Recycled Fluids. State Review Reports provide a multi-stakeholder consensus highlighting program strengths and identifying recommendations for improvement.
