SUNY Maritime College, in New York City, prepares its 1,800 students for careers in shipping and transportation, government, military, business and power generation. Many students pursue U.S. Coast Guard licenses, which qualifies them to work on offshore vessels. 

SUNY Maritime College offers bachelor's degrees in: Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Transportation, Marine Operations, International Transportation and Trade, Maritime Studies and Marine Environmental Science, as well as an associates degree in Marine Technology/Small Vessel Operations.
