Statens fastighetsverk (SFV) is a Swedish state-owned agency in the real estate sector, based in Stockholm, responsible for managing and preserving properties of national cultural value. The agency owns approximately 2,300 properties comprising about 4,000 buildings and a built area of around 1.6 million square meters. It also administers roughly 6.4 million hectares of land—about one seventh of Sweden's total area—and oversees state-owned property and land at 73 locations in 69 countries, including Swedish embassies in 44 countries. SFV is responsible for about 300 state-owned listed historic buildings, and its mandate includes maintaining the historic character of buildings, adapting them to modern needs, and undertaking new development representing the nation. Formed in 1993 from the National Board of Public Buildings, SFV traces work back to the 17th century, and it employs around 500 people across Sweden, with a mandate that includes sustainable management of forests and land to preserve biodiversity and reindeer pastures. In June 2026, SFV launched a map of attractions titled "Welcome to your history" to highlight national treasures.
