Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) is a research organization based in Los Angeles, anchored at the University of Southern California. It operates as a collaborative community of more than a thousand scientists, students, and others connected to more than 90 institutions worldwide. Its work centers on improving the understanding of earthquakes in California and conveying knowledge to reduce earthquake risk. 

In October 2023, the center expanded its footprint to become the Statewide California Earthquake Center and broaden its scope beyond the San Andreas Fault System to encompass the entire Pacific-North America plate boundary in California and surrounding regions. The organization continues to support a broad scientific audience by coordinating research across its extensive network.
