Stephen Wise Free Synagogue is a Reform Jewish congregation based on the Upper West Side of New York City. The community operates with a mid-sized staff and has a history spanning more than a century. Its work centers on advancing progressive Jewish thought, pursuing social action in the local area and beyond, and supporting Israel. In 2023 it launched the Amplify Israel Fellowship to connect future Reform leaders with Israel. Other recent initiatives include introducing traditional Hebrew liturgy for Kabbalat Shabbat in 2021, and expanding teen programming with the appointment of a teen programming associate in 2019.
