Stevens Towing Company is a family-owned, midsize shipyard and freight transportation provider based on Yonges Island, South Carolina, just south of Charleston, with regional offices in Edenton and Morehead City, North Carolina. Founded in 1913, it began by moving produce and passengers between local barrier islands and the Charleston market. Today the company conducts inland, coastwise, and ocean towing, supported by a fleet that includes 13 tugs, more than 60 barges, and cranes such as two 500-ton floating units based in Charleston and Savannah, along with a US-flagged Jones Act vessel and a full-service shipyard. Stevens Towing regularly services the East, West and Gulf Coasts of the United States, the Western Rivers and Great Lakes, and international ports. Its recent activity includes a partnership with Ceresbarge to move wind tower sections from Houston to Edenton. These capabilities reflect a broad maritime operations footprint that supports towing, shipyard services, and related transportation across regional and international markets.
