Stiftelsen Internationella Företagare i Sverige, IFS is a Stockholm-based nonprofit founded in 1996 that supports entrepreneurs with foreign backgrounds to start, run, and grow their businesses. It also works to secure favorable conditions for entrepreneurship and initiates projects to connect immigrant-background entrepreneurs with Swedish companies and organizations. The foundation operates in the nonprofit sector with a focus on fostering inclusive entrepreneurship. To recognize and highlight new entrepreneurs, IFS runs an annual prize program that includes Årets Nybyggare along with the distinctions Årets Pionjär and Årets Unga Pionjär. The award is overseen by HM King Carl XVI Gustaf, who serves as patron and presents the prizes at a final ceremony at Stockholm Palace each October. The program aims to showcase role models among immigrant-background entrepreneurs and to inspire broader interest in entrepreneurship.
