Our story begins on May 17, 1995. After 18 years of successful experience managing money for clients, we decided to leave the safety and security of a large regional investment firm to open our own individually owned and independent Registered Investment Advisor. Rather than name the firm after our family like so many commonly do, we chose to name the company after a famous Civil War general from the South. Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson was many things to many people and quite an eclectic personality. However, the traits that most often characterize him as a person are focus, discipline, hard work, decisive leadership, surprise, superb tactics, and above all, commitment, dependability and reliability. Excellence in each individual effort was expected of him right down to the last private. Accountability for one’s actions was more important than excuses for a failure to succeed. With this winning attitude and his core values of integrity, honor and duty learned at West Point, the small army under his leadership was able to accomplish much success in spite of its limited size and resources against far superior numbers. Thoughtfully and consciously, we have designed our investment firm and financial planning practice around these principles and core values to insure financial success for our clients’, their families and their businesses.
