Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the leading regional transport authority in the west of Scotland and was established in 2006 under a national framework to coordinate transport planning. It is the largest of Scotland's seven regional transport partnerships and operates the Glasgow Subway along with a network of specialist bus services, with a remit to improve public transport across the region. The SPT area includes Glasgow City and multiple surrounding authorities, extending to parts of Argyll and Bute, covering several council areas.
