StreetGames is a UK charity on a mission to bring sport to young people’s doorsteps. Sport has the power to make young people safer, happier and healthier, but low-income households and under-served communities often miss out. With 4.3 million children and young people growing up in poverty, the scale of the challenge is clear. That’s where StreetGames comes in. With our deep understanding of the lives and needs of young people living in poverty, and over 20 years of experience in what works to open up access to life-changing sport and physical activity, we help around 400,000 children and young people each year to transform their lives through the power of sport. We believe that change is best delivered locally. Our network of community partners is made up of over 1,600 organisations, from sports clubs and community groups to housing associations, leisure trusts and local authorities – all delivering sport to young people who need it most. These groups know their neighbourhoods and the young people who live there, and are uniquely placed to create positive change – but they need support. We provide our community partners with insight, funding, training and resources to empower them to do what they do best: transforming young lives through sport and physical activity. From a youth group in Derby to a policy meeting in Downing Street, young voices deserve to be listened to at every level. We are proud to be a champion for children and young people living in under-served communities: standing alongside them to ensure that their voices are heard and their needs are included in decision makers’ planning, policies and investment. Together with our partners, we’re providing equal opportunities through sport. StreetGames is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission (registered charity number 1113542) and as a company limited by guarantee with the Registrar of Companies (registered company number 5384487).
