Strings By Mail is a global retailer specializing in strings for a wide range of instruments, along with related musical accessories, sheet music, books, CDs, DVDs, and guitars. The company has historically focused on classical guitar products and expertise, but now offers strings and accessories for both acoustic and electric guitars as well as many plucked or bowed instruments, serving players seeking diverse string options and sound characteristics. Based in Traverse City, Michigan, the firm operates with a small team and serves customers who value immediate order feedback and knowledgeable guidance on string choices and instrument setup. The business context places it within the musicians’ supply industry, where it competes by providing a broad catalog and customer service that supports players’ goals across common and uncommon strings. A recent development involves collaboration with the D’Addario Foundation as part of a fundraising initiative for Girls in Music, reflecting engagement with industry partners on social initiatives.
