Students United is a non-profit, independent organization established in 1967 that advocates for state university students in Minnesota. Based in St. Paul, Minnesota, it serves more than 70,000 students across seven state universities and operates as the official representative of state university students on campus, system, state, and federal levels. The organization focuses on voice and advocacy on a range of issues affecting higher education, functioning as a coordinating body that engages with university administration and public policy in order to address student concerns. With a staff size described in general terms, it maintains its mandate as a student-funded entity, providing a conduit for student perspectives at multiple governance levels. A notable recent development includes a collaboration with Bold.org to support STEM-related resources and an associated scholarship or contest, announced in late 2023.
