Studio Hillier is the second generation of Hillier Architecture, founded in 1966 by J. Robert Hillier. Six years since the merger of Hillier Architecture with a Euro-based firm, we have recontextualized our architectural practice and founded Studio Hillier, a human-centric, research based architecture and urbanism practice. Our storefront location in the old Witherspoon Jackson neighborhood of Princeton, New Jersey is apropos of our desire to reach into the places where people live and to engage them in the conversation about the future. Led by J. Robert Hillier, LhD, FAIA. We are a nimble office of 19 talented architects and designers who share the belief that architecture is inclusive and for our clients and ourselves, holds endless possibility

Our convictions and beliefs about architectural practice remain unchanged. We believe in the inclusivity of architecture and that it is open-ended and without limitation. We believe in the profound need for dialogue between people and between the public and private spheres. We view architects as artists and thinkers, technologists and writers, makers and doers, who deserve a humane workplace where they can thrive. Fundamentally, we believe that architecture exists within the interdisciplinary corpus of cultural production, that it performs as both index and path for advancing society and human history. We see our path forward as more than designers, but as urbanists, builders, and developers. The time is right for architecture to reclaim the territory that was once its own.

Studio Hillier LLC has been in operation since 2011. We are registered in the State of New Jersey as a SBE, Small Business Enterprise.
