At Summit Center for Child Development we believe that every child can learn appropriate social behavior and effective communication skills that will improve their quality of life at home and in the community. Our goal is for students to not only acquire the skills necessary for inclusion into public schools but to also improve the overall quality of life for the children and families we serve. To achieve this goal, we use evidence-based methods that are founded on the principles of applied behavior analysis to promote skill acquisition and decrease challenging behavior. Research shows that early intensive intervention based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) provides children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder the best possible outcome. Our curriculum addresses the following skills: language and communication, learning readiness, academic skills, self-help and daily living skills, fine and gross motor skills, play skills and social skills.
