Support for Families of Children with Disabilities is a San Francisco-based nonprofit that provides information, education, and free peer-to-peer support to families of children with disabilities or special health care needs. The services help families navigate care and educational systems by connecting them with peers who share similar experiences. A large share of the staff, volunteers, and board members are themselves family members of children with disabilities. It holds several certifications from state and federal agencies recognizing its role as a resource and training center for families. One such designation is the Community Parent Resource Center from the U.S. Department of Education, with additional California and local program acknowledgments. Notably, in May 2023 the organization named Wendy Neikirk Rhodes as executive director.
