Supporting Kids Foundation is a small nonprofit based in Overland Park, Kansas, founded in 2009 and incorporated in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) organization. Its purpose is to offset the financial burden faced by local Kansas City families when a child is diagnosed with cancer. The foundation prioritizes immediate needs during active treatment, directing all assistance to families treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital or KU Medical Center to ensure funds stay in the community.

Fundraising is driven primarily by four annual events—the Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament, a summer golf tournament, an auction and gala called A Night for the Kids, and a Kentucky Derby watch party—along with corporate and individual partnerships. The support covers essential costs such as utilities, housing expenses, travel and lodging for specialized treatment outside the KC area, and, in the most difficult cases, funeral expenses.
