Heritage and Authenticity Supro’s rich history rooted in Chicago’s vintage amp scene and legendary artists like Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page positions it as a premium brand with authentic, sought-after vintage-inspired products. Leveraging this legacy in marketing can attract enthusiasts and collectors seeking iconic, high-quality amplification gear.

Product Innovation Recent product launches, including high-end combo amps, custom collaborations with retailers like Sweetwater, and versatile tube amps, demonstrate Supro’s ongoing innovation and responsiveness to market demands. Opportunities exist to promote these new, tech-forward models to professional musicians and boutique gear consumers.

Strategic Partnerships Supro’s recent collaboration with Sweetwater and its acquisition by D’Angelico Guitars indicate an expanding distribution network and increased brand visibility. Developing joint marketing campaigns and exclusive product offerings through these channels could enhance sales reach and brand penetration.

Audience Expansion While Supro has a strong vintage appeal, engaging younger musicians and modern indie artists who value unique tones and aesthetic could unlock new market segments. Tailored marketing and product demonstrations emphasizing versatility and modern features can attract this demographic.

Limited Resources With a small team and revenue under $10 million, Supro’s growth may benefit from targeted sales efforts towards boutique and specialty stores, online communities, and direct-to-consumer channels. Focusing on these channels can maximize resource efficiency and drive incremental sales.

The Supro tone has always been expressed as a unique and powerful voice - never a copy, clone or wannabe of any other major make of amplifier.

Supro’s origin can be traced back to Chicago in the mid 30’s where manufacturing company Valco began producing guitars and amplifiers under the Supro name. By the late 60’s, Jimi Hendrix was playing a Supro Thunderbolt amp on tour with the Isley Brothers while Jimmy Page, inspired by the raw tones of the south-side Chicago blues scene, cut seminal Led Zeppelin tracks on a Supro Model 24.

In September 2013, Absara Audio LLC acquired the Supro trademark and launched a collaboration between former Fender amp designer Bruce Zinky and Pigtronix sound designer David Koltai to realize a modern incarnation of the legendary Supro sounds from the Valco era.

Our new line of USA made, vintage inspired Supro amplifiers will become available in 2014.
