Our story began in 2012 when we were founded as a business unit of the Chinese automotive manufacturer Great Wall Motors (GWM) and did pre-research on batteries. 2018 the unit became a spin-off and completely separated from GWM and developed independently as the automotive supplier SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. SVOLT is a sister company of GWM and is part of Baoding Great Wall Holding, which is also a shareholder of GWM. 
The Chinese company is headquartered in Changzhou, a city in the southern Jiangsu Province.
SVOLT Energy Technology (Europe) GmbH emerged in 2019, spreading its wings and landing in the beating heart of Europe. Headquarters of the European subsidiary is Frankfurt am Main. President SVOLT Europe & Vice President SVOLT Energy Technology is Mr. Kai-Uwe Wollenhaupt.
