The Synagogue Council of Massachusetts (SCM) spans the spectrum from Orthodox to Reform, Conservative to Reconstructionist, congregations to minyanim. To the best of our knowledge, there is no other transdenominational synagogue-based organization of its kind anywhere else in North America, or perhaps in the world. Where else do synagogues and minyanim from across the denominations -- and those self-identified as independent -- pay dues to a central organizing group and work together for the common good? OUR MISSION The Synagogue Council of Massachusetts builds connections among individuals and communities to promote mutual understanding and respect for Jewish diversity, serves and strengthens congregations that span the spectrum of Jewish belief and practice, and connects individuals to those congregations.
