Synapse Technology is a leading provider of deep-learning based Automated Threat Recognition algorithms for x-ray imaging systems. Synapse’s technology has been deployed on x-ray inspection systems to enable the automated detection of various prohibited items including firearms, knives, ammunition, and lighters, among other objects.  

Syntech ONE’s algorithms are based on novel machine learning methods called deep learning. Deep learning algorithms are able to outperform other threat detection algorithms because of their ability to generalize – being able to detect items they have never seen before, but bear the characteristics of the item of interest. 

Synapse has processed over 5,000,000 passenger bags, catching thousands of additional threats like sharps and guns that would not have otherwise been found. In field deployments, Syntech ONE has demonstrated unprecedented detection and false alarm rates. Syntech ONE has received DHS SAFETY Act DT&E Designation, offering risk and liability protection for customers.
