SYRO, headquartered in NYC, has been deploying weapons of mass feminization around the world since 2016. Founded by Henry Bae and Shaobo Han, SYRO emerged from their shared desire for high heels in large sizes.

Our name SYRO—pronounced SEE-RO—finds its roots in the Ancient Greek word anasyromenos, an artistic motif that portrays figurines of femme goddesses lifting their skirts to reveal a phallus. The exposed genitalia was believed to grant good luck and ward off the evil eye. (P.S. Flip over your SYRO heels for our tribute.)

At the beating heart of SYRO is the mission to carve out space for folks to celebrate their femininity and reject traditional masculinity, whether that’s on the street, the subway, for the likes, or even just in bedrooms. SYRO shoes have stomped red carpets and the steps of the Met Gala, carrying with them an inherently political perspective. Our designs are inspired by the true-to-life experiences of queer folks all around the world, and we’re also proud to employ queer teams & talent.
