The Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL) is a small nonprofit based in Rosemead, California, focused on improving the quality of life for Taiwanese Americans in the United States. Its programs emphasize leadership development and identity formation for youth, while serving participants of all ages and addressing areas where Asian Americans are underrepresented. The organization runs a range of signature programs and networks, including a Leadership Conference, internships in politics, journalism, and entertainment, a High School Scholarship, Leadership Identity Development initiatives, Leading Youth Forward camps, the High School Network through JTASA.org, and a young professionals group called Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP). These efforts target Taiwanese Americans across the United States, aiming to foster community involvement and cultivate leaders who can advance representation in civic, media, and professional spheres. In 2019, TACL launched the Write In Taiwanese Census 2020 Campaign to educate the community about the option to indicate their identity on the U.S. Census.
