TanenbaumCHAT is a safe coeducational community Jewish high school that offers an exciting and extensive educational experience both inside and outside the classroom. Our rigorous General and Jewish Studies curriculum prepares students to attend the finest post-secondary institutions and succeed in their chosen paths. As a Jewish institution, TanenbaumCHAT creates a context where students can explore their own relationship with God in a respectful environment, enrich their understanding of Jewish tradition and its relevance to modern life, deepen their sense of responsibility towards the Jewish people and the State of Israel, and discover their unique contribution to the world around them. Graduates join a distinguished network of over 7,000 alumni who are making their impact in Toronto and across the globe. The Tanenbaum name has been associated with our school since 1998 following a major gift from philanthropist Dr. Anne Tanenbaum. She cared deeply about Jewish education and her gift made possible extensive additions to the Wilmington (now Wallenberg) Campus. In honour of a further substantial gift she made before her passing in 2008, the entire school was renamed the Anne and Max Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto – TanenbaumCHAT – its every day usage.
