TasNetworks operates Tasmania's electricity networks, responsible for building, maintaining and operating the transmission and distribution system that delivers power across the state. It supplies electricity to more than 250,000 homes and businesses through a network of transmission towers, substations and distribution lines. In addition to energy delivery, the company manages new connections, outage response and repairs, meter reading, electrical safety education, and training for lineworkers, contractors and related personnel, and it also owns a telecommunications business serving customers in the electricity sector and other industries. Based in Lenah Valley, Tasmania, TasNetworks has its largest offices in Hobart, Cambridge, Mornington, Launceston and Devonport, with operations across the state. It maintains a sizeable workforce across technical, operational and administrative roles, and in 2026 announced that its Chief Executive Officer Seán Mc Goldrick would depart on 30 June 2026.
