Cathcart Rail Holdings is a family-owned, rail-focused company. The family has enjoyed five subsequent generations in the freight rail industry, including the company's principals who have decades of hands-on rail experience – specifically with mechanical operations, inspection and repair. Cathcart Rail Holdings is actively pursuing acquisitions and opportunities within the freight rail industry: repair; transloading; railroads & switching; rolling stock; storage; cleaning; and operating contracts. Current Holdings / Operations: Bucyrus Railcar Repair, LLC: This general freight railcar facility, served by both the Norfolk Southern and CSX, spans 33 acres with 165,000 square feet under roof, 28 repair spots, and capacity for up to 300 cars in Bucyrus, Ohio. The facility's capabilities include: general and wreck repair; inspections; exterior and interior coatings; full blast and paint; and mobile and running repair services. Bucyrus Railcar Repair-Marion: This shop, located on the CSX mainline within the Marion Industrial Center, performs inspections, and general, mobile and running repair work and currently has capacity for up to 20 bad-order cars on-site. Blast and coating capabilities are forthcoming. Bucyrus Railcar Services: Provides various services, such as running repair, railcar cleaning or off-site field inspections, and full operational management of rail and rail-served facilities. Currently serving as running repair agent on behalf of the CSX at Marion Intermodal Center, the nation's largest privately-owned intermodal facility, as well as four other locations that include grain elevators and various commercial and industrial sites. Bucyrus Railcar Solutions: Offers specialized consulting for rail operations, related to continuous improvement, production efficiency, profitability, quality and safety, by a certified lean six sigma master black belt. Bucyrus Railcar: Owns and leases rolling stock, assists with storage procurement.
