TCA Health Inc.-NFP is a Chicago-based nonprofit community health center with origins dating to 1970, when it was founded as a privately owned clinic known as The Clinic in Altgeld to serve public housing residents with primary care, preventive services, health education, and social services. In 1991, after receiving federal support, it transitioned to a nonprofit primary health care center, expanding its capacity to address the needs of Chicago’s underserved. Today, it functions as a medical home for thousands on the far south side of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, offering affordable care that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. At its main location, TCA Health provides a broad range of clinical services, including internal and family medicine, dental, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral health, optometry, pharmacy, lab, and ultrasound. The organization extends its reach through a Mobile Van Health Clinic and a School-Based Health Center at Carver Military Academy, and expanded access to the Chatham community in 2015. It also offers support programs such as SNAP, WIC, health and wellness collaboration, and health insurance enrollment, operating as a Health Center Program grantee and an equal opportunity provider.
