TechLit Africa, based in Chicago, Illinois, was founded by two software engineers, Nelly Cheboi and Tyler Cinnamon. The organization seeks to reduce intergenerational poverty by leveraging the opportunities of the digital economy. It repurposes reclaimed computers to establish computer labs in rural primary schools, enabling students to learn digital skills. Since 2018, TechLit Africa has partnered with 15 schools, reaching about 6,000 children with curricula and educators while schools cover local operations to sustain the programs. In November 2024, Logitech announced a partnership with TechLit Africa, reflecting ongoing collaborations to advance its work.
