Telkonet is a mid-sized IT services and consulting firm based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. It operates as part of the VDA Telkonet Group, described as the largest global player in energy management systems and guest room management systems for the hospitality market, and it is positioned as a leader in IoT-enabled hospitality technologies. The group supports projects through every phase—from consulting and engineering to delivery and ongoing support—and has deployed solutions in around one million rooms across fifty countries. It maintains two in-house research and development teams totaling about 40 engineers, holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, and operates under a Code of Ethics centered on fairness, loyalty, and transparency.

Its target customers are operators in the global hospitality sector seeking to improve guest comfort while reducing energy use through connected solutions. The company emphasizes its broad market experience and its role as a strategic partner across project lifecycles. In May 2026 Telkonet announced governance updates following a change in the ownership structure of VDA Group S.p.A., the group’s majority owner.
