Oracle and Frafos SBC's led us to look at the entire user experience including SIP signaling , KPI’s [Key Performance Indicators] such as, how long call it takes to set up the call [PDD - Post-Dial Delay] and how often is it successful, [ASR] Answer Seize Ratio also known as Session Establishment Ratio (SER) in the SIP world]. In 2008 we were approached by the team which had been led by Prof. Henning Schulzrinne to produce the original SIP Express Router (SER) perfect the first open source SIP platform. This team had technology transferred out of the famous Fraunhofer Research Institute, in Berlin Germany, to operate VoIP services at a large carrier using that open-source SER platform. They soon realized the challenge to building high quality VoIP services was managing it in Voice Operations. Accordingly, they produced the first real-time perpetuity stateful Service Assurance platform for SIP known back then as Palladion. Teraquant launched Palladion in North America. It was a totally different and revolutionary way of doing Service Assurance and is now well loved by many users in the USA and Canada. In 2012 Palladion was acquired by Acme Packet, the famous SBC vendor, who a year later, in 2013 were themselves acquired by Oracle Communications.

Today, Teraquant helps the voice research community through NIST/NTIA, SIP Forum and Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) to test and bring new objective metrics for perceptual speech clarity to those who work in high background noise environments.
