Texas College, a liberal arts institution based in Tyler, Texas, is the city’s oldest higher education institution, founded in 1894 as a historically Black college by the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church (now the CME Church). It provides foundational and theoretical preparation intended to position students for graduate or professional study as well as entry into the workforce.
