The Texas Energy Council is a small, nonprofit, non-partisan federation of professional and educational societies focused on energy education in Texas. It traces its origins to 1988 as the Dallas Energy Council, later evolving into the North Texas Energy Council in 1996 and adopting its current name in 2007. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the organization provides a forum for energy-related professional societies and educational institutions to discuss issues and to share technology and educational resources with members and the broader public. The TEC's network includes more than 5,000 members drawn from its constituent organizations. A board of directors is formed by two elected representatives from each member organization.
