The Texas Golf Association is a nonprofit organization that serves as the governing body for amateur golf in Texas. Founded in 1906, it is based in Addison, Texas, and supports a broad membership that includes more than 450 clubs and over 120,000 individual golfers. The association operates as a central authority for amateur competition in the state, providing governance and coordination for the game. It occupies a role in the spectator sports landscape by promoting and organizing amateur golf across Texas. The TGA Championship Department administers more than 160 events and about 350 days of competition each year, including statewide and regional championships, the Legends Junior Tour, multiple major college tournaments, and more than 80 TGA and USGA qualifying events. In August 2023, the organization partnered with Champions Golf Club in Houston to ship over 8,000 golf balls to the Guyana Golf Association, illustrating collaboration beyond state lines.
