Texas Swim Academy operates in the recreational facilities sector in Katy, Texas, focusing on infant and child aquatic education. The program began in 2004 as a home-based venture offering infant water survival training, established by Kathleen McMordie after she completed specialized in-water and academic training. The approach centers on teaching infants, toddlers, and preschoolers water survival skills, and the business progressed over the years, reaching the maximum use of its backyard pool by 2009.

In 2012 the organization expanded to a climate-controlled facility of about 7,800 square feet at a central location to provide a dedicated space for families to learn and practice swimming. Texas Swim Academy offers one-on-one infant aquatics instruction delivered by nationally recognized instructors, group swimming lessons led by locally recognized instructors, and private instruction for competition-preparatory stroke development. The company emphasizes its focus on working with infants and small children and maintains ongoing relationships with students and their parents.
