Thammasat University is a Thai higher education institution founded in 1934, recognized as the second oldest university in the country. It began as an open university and later organized its curriculum around four faculties—Law, Political Science, Commerce and Accountancy, and Economics—with the liberal arts faculty introduced early on. Since 1960, admission has been conducted through national entrance examinations, reflecting its position within the national system of higher education. In 2026, the university expanded its regional footprint by opening a location in Pattaya and establishing a Buddhist Art Gallery there. That year it also signed MOUs with partners including the Nai Lert Group and STelligence Co., Ltd. to advance Thai human-resource development and professional skills, while pursuing international collaborations such as the College of Interdisciplinary Studies’ agreement with Exeter Antioxidant Therapeutics Ltd., and a partnership with TNLX to support the SEED TO SUCCESS project.
