The African Network (TAN) is a global non-profit organization based in Santa Clara, California, established in 2004 with a mission to foster entrepreneurship and technology among people of African descent. Its work centers on creating a support structure through networking, education, training, and mentoring to help entrepreneurs and community leaders develop ventures and contribute to community development. TAN operates mainly through two programs: TANCon, an annual conference organized on both Africa and USA continents to facilitate networking and discussion among entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers, and the TAN Empowerment Program (TEP), which focuses on mentoring, coaching, and providing resources to aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly youth in low-income and underserved communities. The organization targets individuals of African descent seeking to start or grow businesses and aims to mobilize resources to uplift these communities.
