The American International School of Muscat (TAISM) is an international school based in Masqaţ, Oman, offering an American curriculum and teaching methods. It was established in 1998 through a collaboration among the Embassy of the United States in Oman, the Ministry of Education of Oman, the U.S. Department of State's Office of Overseas Schools, and a group of parents and business leaders. In Oman, TAISM is notable for being the country’s only international school sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and the only one built around American curriculum and methodologies. Operating in the education administration programs sector, TAISM serves families requiring international schooling with an American framework, appealing to both expatriate and local communities. The school provides an alternative within Oman’s education landscape by combining U.S.-based curriculum with U.S. embassy sponsorship, aligning with U.S. educational standards.
