Our Mission The Knox County ARC is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing programs and services for people with mental disabilities in Knox County; to safeguard their rights and protect their welfare; and to help each individual achieve the highest possible level of personal growth and independence. The Arc Knox County was founded in 1953.Sunshine Services is owned and operated by the Knox County ARC, a private, non-profit corporation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. Sunshine Services consists of a number of programs for individuals with disabilities. These programs consist of an Early Intervention Program, Residential Programs, Leisure Services, Retirement Program, Supported Employment, and Sunshine Industries. Sunshine Industries consists of: Providing short term vocational training and long-term sheltered employment to adults with disabilities Work includes light industrial subcontract jobs for local businesses Employees learn work skills and good work habits Enclaves at various community sites Supported employment offers job placement in the community Available Services: Collating Assembly Shrink wrapping items Print shop hand work (labeling, stapling and mailers) Packaging products Sorting
