The Barn Environmental Group, INC is a nonprofit organization that seeks to conserve and restore America’s waters and lands for every community. The streams and wetlands in our backyards and neighborhoods perform important functions in addition to being aesthetically pleasing. The Barn Environmental Group focuses its resources on these natural features. We feel and understand the importance of stream and wetland resources. The corridors and green-ways of streams are often the last open natural spaces in developed areas. If a youth or adult wants to commune with nature, stream corridors may be the closest and last resort offered to them. But streams are also the collection place of the sad debris of life and progress which degrades the very last natural resource most people have access to. The Barn Environmental Group says: We can do better. We provide outreach to communities to reintroduce them to these wonders in their backyards and neighborhoods. We coordinate service projects so that communities can take and feel ownership for these natural areas. We provide education to young and old in classrooms and field trips so that people understand streams and wetlands better. Stream and wetland work requires biologists, engineers, surveyors, and even lawyers. The cost to do this work right or even at all exceeds the financial resources of many. We are a nonprofit so that we can direct income from other services to help those in need of our help but who cannot afford it on their own. As a nonprofit organization, we can provide subsidized low cost services to individuals and communities in need. The income from for-fee services supports this effort as well as our community outreach, service projects, education, and research. We also accept donations of all kinds including in-kind services.
