The Beecher's Foundation is the founding organization of the Food Detectives workshop: A free resource for teachers that has inspired students to be confident, curious, and informed about the food they eat.

Through Food Detectives,  our nationally recognized, commercial-free program, we’ve reached 285,000+ students across all 50 states, teaching kids to see through food marketing, make smart nutrition choices, and build lifelong skills for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Founded by Kurt Beecher Dammeier in 2006, our program has evolved into a fully scalable virtual platform,  putting interactive, standards-aligned lessons directly in teachers’ hands.

Our mission: make nutrition education fun, accessible, and empowering, turning curiosity about food into confidence that lasts a lifetime.
