The Brenton Arboretum is a nonprofit organization in the Museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos sector based in Dallas Center, Iowa. It was founded by Sue and J.C. Brenton and their children to celebrate trees and preserve a 140-acre natural area, with the first trees planted in spring 1997. A master plan for the arboretum was developed by Anthony Tyznik, a landscape architect associated with the Morton Arboretum. The arboretum contains more than 2,600 trees and shrubs representing over 175 identified species and is open to the public. Its grounds feature a central road with parking, walking paths, prairies, streams, a small lake and pond with boardwalks, and a pavilion for picnics and events, offering a tranquil setting for reflection.
