The CARE Center is a nonprofit organization based in New Hope, Alabama, established in 2000 when four local churches joined forces to address unmet needs in southeastern Madison County. It began by providing essential items such as food, toiletries, baby products, school supplies, and financial assistance to families, serving around 60 households per month in its early years, and later expanded to include programs aimed at community development and higher education opportunities. Today, the center works with volunteers and staff to assist neighbors through crisis support while offering pathways to self-sufficiency, and it maintains partnerships with more than a thousand students and families. In addition to its direct support services, The CARE Center has engaged in community collaborations, including a noted partnership with Madison County Schools to feed students participating in summer learning programs. The organization operates within the non-profit sector and serves residents in the region, focusing on crisis intervention and opportunities for education and self-reliance.
