The Center for Irish Music (CIM) is a nonprofit education organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota, focused on preserving and passing down traditional Irish music. It offers private lessons, group classes, sessions, and events featuring leading artists, with the aim of supporting a community of learners, performers, and volunteers who are passionate about Irish arts across the Twin Cities, the Midwest, and Canada. Founded in 2004 by Kate and Jode Dowling and originally hosted by a local conservatory, CIM became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2008 and established its permanent home within the Celtic Junction Arts Center, which has helped broaden access to its programs. The organization positions itself as Minnesota’s central gathering place for both professional artists and dedicated students, serving a regional audience with educational and cultural programming rooted in traditional Irish music.
